The very first thing you need to do when you are trying to change to a positive mindset is have a lot of awareness and pay close attention.  Pay attention to your thoughts and the limits you put on yourself.  There are many reasons we have limiting beliefs.  Maybe you were told you weren't good enough as a child, and you've carried that into your adulthood.  Now is the time to notice when these thoughts come through, and make the decision to change.

Life Coaching Tip of the Week- Feel the Love: Felt Gratitude

The month of November is upon us and amidst the election craziness and continued rising pandemic infection rate numbers, I’d like to take a little time out and focus our attention on some positivity.  This is why this month I introduced the idea of "A Month of Gratitude challenge" on my social media accounts (Instagram and Facebook).  I want to try to focus our energy on what we can control in our lives, and to point out the awesomeness that’s already there.  I’m not trying to put blinders on you and block out all the concerns and happenings in the world, I just know that it isn’t healthy (mentally or physically) to give all your attention to something that provokes stress and negativity.  In knowing this, I want to help provide a little outlet or ray of light in your day where you can change gears, take a deep breath, and know that everything will be ok because YOU are in charge.  November after all is traditionally a month of...

Life Coaching Tip of the Week- Become a Mindset Maven

A few months ago, I was working on creating a mindset workshop for moms that I was planning to call “The Happy Mom”.  I was a recovering grump myself and saw such massive transformation happen when I did a few simple things to change my mindset, and I was dying to help other moms create more happiness in their lives too.  The problem was that due to the current state of the world at the time it suddenly felt completely inappropriate.  How could I talk to people about being happy when life as we knew it had taken such a massive downward turn?!  How could I talk about being happy when people were sick and dying, and everyone was so fearful about this awful virus?  My workshop idea was something that would have to wait for a post-covid world, or so I thought.

As time went on and my idea collected dust, I just kept hearing the same thing over and over again from friends, family, and moms I work with and coach… “I’m just so...

What To Do When You’ve Lost Focus or Momentum

There is no doubt that we are living in awkward times.  The changes in the world right now are affecting everyone in many ways, but as moms we always tend to carry it all.  Everyone’s health, happiness, education, social schedules… it’s a lot!  So how on earth could we ALSO work on our own personal goals at this time?

Most of us with big goals have been thrown a bit off course, and in many ways lost motivation to pursue anything at this time.  When we look at our lives we see this massive COVID hurdle in our way and finding the mental energy to leap over this feels nearly impossible.  It requires us to get creative and really think outside the box, and It is hard!  Do you ever find yourself thinking, maybe this isn’t the right time to do it?  Or maybe saying, it shouldn’t be this hard?

Here’s the truth- It’s important to have goals, even during tough times because growth remains...

3 Things That Will Happen When You Finally Get Started

I know that getting started with anything new can be scary but let's just break this down into what REALLY happens when you "start today".

There is so much buzz around the concept of not waiting to be ready, and as author and motivational business coach Angie Lee says "ready is a lie."  There are journals, books, endless motivational social media posts encouraging people to get started working towards their dreams, don't let anything hold you back, and to combat your limiting beliefs.  Leaders in the personal development field base a tremendous amount of their businesses and coaching around this, and for good reason!  So much good, happiness, abundance, and genius lies on the other side of ‘going for It'.  We all have gifts, blessings, and purposes on this earth yet we wait to share them...

Why do we so often wait to get started?

One reason is that we feel like we need to be completely prepared and "ready".  Have all our ducks in a...

What Holds You Back? “TIME”

Uncategorized Aug 06, 2020

If this Covid crisis has done anything positive it’s the fact that it’s given us a little extra time to let our minds wander. Out of chaos can come opportunity, and it all starts with our ability to dream.

Yet so many of those dreams remain just that- dreams. We have things holding us back from making the decision to ACTUALLY GO FOR IT. Through my work with mentoring women with my business I’ve had tons and tons of conversations about people’s dreams and identified a list of limitations we tend to put on ourselves as to why we simply cannot do It. The first and possibly most common challenge for people is- TIME.

We know that time is valuable. It’s the only thing that is completely equal for all of us, and it cannot be purchased. Once it’s gone, it’s gone! If you have something on your heart that you would love to pursue but you feel you simply cannot find the time, I need to beg to differ. If it matters to you, you’ll find the time....

It’s Not Normal- A message from a tired mom

mom life Jun 26, 2020

Sometimes the timing just needs to be right, amiright?  I wanted to share this story because I’m finding I’m sharing it more and more with friends and acquaintances lately as I’m hearing the same concerns over and over again…

  • I’m just so freaking tired all the time, when does this get easier?
  • As hard as I try, I just can’t seem to get into shape
  • My periods are hell on Earth, literally can’t do anything for a week.

This is how I existed FOR YEARS.  Let me tell you my story and see if any of this resonates with you.

Growing up I had been an athlete, but after high school all my fitness efforts were sporadic and inconsistent.  Like all young people I felt like I had plenty of time, and that I was slightly invincible… but as a nurse I knew I wasn’t.  You see, it’s a funny thing.  I always quote Maya Angelou and say “when you know better, you do...
